Default Inventory Homes

i've been looking around TOTV and haven't been able to find the answer to this question (of course that doesn't mean that it's not there - LOL) If we buy an inventory home, can we swap out the appliances for other ones offered? Thanks...

When I asked that about the Villas, i was told I could sell back to the vendor for what I wanted, I could not exchange thru TV. We have not bought yet, so haven't tried it.

If an inventory home is a brand new home, yes you can swap them out yourself with whoever supplied them, which warranty can tell you. We did that. Do not turn anything on and do not use them and then they will upgrade you but you will pay....it is not like going appliance shopping and getting a great deal, you pretty well trade in for full retail. But you get rid of them quickly and get what you want, so for us, it was the easiest way to go, they took out the appliances that were there, brought in and set up the new ones. Convenient.

Some salesperson's seem to get most anything done. Of course, you most likely would be better off to buy the appliances you want on the "open market" rather than pay the price of the Developer's appliances. Ask your salesperson-----I assume you have one or ask the salesperson in the open houses as they will give you the "scoop". Good luck and good house hunting.

We move in on Friday, sort of .. we get there but movers don't show up until Monday.
Anyway, we were told that we cannot swap out except as noted above. You contact the supplier/vendor and try to work a deal. We have been told that it is easier to use the supplied fridge, for example, as a garage unit, or sell it outright on your own. Then buy from a big box store and get a far better deal. Overall it becomes almost break even ... compared to the job the vendor will do on you.
