Default Changing Colors On Doors & Shutters

Is there a problem if I want to change the color of front door and shutters? Also are there certain colors that you have to use? Thanks in advance.

Default paint

Hi Cher...I had my front door & shuttlers painted...they were black and I went to burgandy. It took the painter three coats but came out GREAT. He used a sherwin-williams outdoor paint. He said it will last for years.

ARC (Architectural Control) would be the best people to ask. Their number is at the front of the phone book.

On the other hand, they probably wouldn't notice unless the Village Watchdog Patrol sees you painting and rats you out.

Please be kind to your neighbors since they'll have to look at it.

I changed the color of my door from light to a dark color... never thought to ask anybody. Also put a window in it. Never heard any complaints from it.

I only wanted to go from burgandy/breown to a taupe. Not some horrible color.

Horrible color is only in the eyes of the beholder.

We changed our trim and front door color. We got permission first from the architectural committee. Not a problem. Just submit a paint chip by noon Mon. and have your approval on Wed. Our chip was from Lowes.
Then they have the color on file so if the home is later sold, the new owner can call and get the exact match when they need to paint.

Was told by the receptionist at the architectural office, that most house colors are approved unless they are too wild. Or just don't blend with the rest of the house such as the roof.
They are much more strict on villas tho.
