Default SOLD in Griffin, GA!!

After a year on the market and taking a HUGE loss, i am set to close on the sale of my Sun City Peachtree house on August 31st. Will be down in TV next week for a preliminary house hunting trip and hope to be settled in before the end of the year. Keep the faith all of you folks trying to sell in GA....it WILL happen. Maybe not on the terms you would have liked, but every time i started feeling sick about how little i was going to walk away with, i just kept focused on the goal: life in TV. And maybe it's the universe's way of telling me that i really don't need a lot of space when i (hopefully) won't be spending too much time in the house anyway. Will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express and hoping that i don't get killed in one of the roundabouts BEFORE i can realize my dream.

Congratulations on your sale in Griffin, GA. Hope to see you in The Villages. We just purchased in the Village of Charlotte and looking forward to moving in soon. We did not sell our home base yet and we will tackle that at a later date. Have fun looking for your new home.

Isn't Griffin Doc Holiday's birth place?

Yes, it IS the birthplace of Doc Holiday. They even have a Doc Holiday museum and annual Doc Holiday beer fest.

Welcome. I lost a ton of dollars selling in Senoia, right down 16 from Griffin. Was not sure at the time, but after a few years now, I know we did the right thing. My wife and I love it here and would never go back. Let me know when ya get here and I will buy the first round.

Thanks 2BNTV. You are so right about the "...priceless to get on with your life" thing. That is exactly what kept me focused. I was poking around a little store the other day and saw one of those decorative pillows with a GREAT quote: Don't let yesterday take up too much of today. Came home and made it my screen saver.

Congratulations on the sale of oyour home, we just closed on ours in Smyrna two weeks before we closed on the house here. You are right about the loss, but some can be made up on taxes, it is not worth the loss of the life here to wait for the price in GA to be right.

WELCOME!!!!!! Do you know what village you will live in? We are in Charlotte.

Senoia!!!! I LOVE Senoia......visiting Senoia has been the best part of living here. Sorry that you had to take a loss too, but glad that you were happy that you did it. I know that will be the case with me. Will definitely collect on the first round offer!!

Thanks Finallyfree!! Your screen name is exactly how i feel....finally free. Thought i had moved to my "forever home" after retirement, but realize now that it was just a stop along the way. And yes, the financial loss pales in comparison with the probability of continuing to live in one place and wish you were living someplace else. NO idea where i will live in TV. Will be there next week to do some preliminary house hunting and see what my $$ will buy.

Congratulations and to the TOTV forum.

Griffin is also where Lt. John McIntosh Kell, Executive Officer, of the famous Confederate cruiser CSS Alabama is buried. His farm and historical marker is up towards SunnySide.

Good for you! We, also, just sold ... lost the down payment and the years of payments, as well as bringing XX,000 to the closing, but it is time to move on to the rest of our lives. We close in 2 weeks, and close on our TV home the same day. Time to move on, huh?

Congratulations! We are seeing things pick up here and are thrilled. We have a contingent offer and 4 showings last weekend. People need to sell, but at the right price they are going! And did I hear interest rates are 3.75!
Be careful not to get too smart at the HIE! And best of luck with the move .
Btw ... We are in Kennesaw home of the General and Kennesaw Mopuntain Battlefield!
