Default tadpoles at last....

We sold at last (Took 4 hours) and we arrived here Thursday evening. Talked to mortgage people Friday; looked at houses on Sat, made decision to go with "spec" house on Sunday (rather than build on lot we selected in June); signed contract on Monday (closing on Oct 2nd). Never let it be said that Spouse (otherwise known as "she who must be obeyed!") is impatient!
Everything going well until call to Pods for delivery....WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T DELIVER TO TV!!!! It's the dreaded Ocala/32163 situation again. Now we have met (over the phone at least) the nastiest man in Florida....the dispute manager in the Ocala Pods office. Thanks to previous threads and posts, we have a few ideas to follow up on.....calling corp, fraud against seniors, BBB, etc.
Wish us luck!
Still lots to do....insurance, drivers licenses, car registration, etc. but at least for now, we have past the "wannab" stage into full grown (?) tadpoles, on our way to "Frogdom!"

Default Ouch

Good for you on the sale and purchase. If i'm not mistaken you have to go thru Orlando Pods for delivery to 32163. I've seen other PODS in the new area. Hope this helps.

Hi - We, too are moving to Fernandina. I was talking to PODS yesterday to have mine delivered. As it turns out, the fact that they had to deliver from the Orlando office, saved me about $500. The only minor glitch is that they are only delivering/picking up to 32163 on Tues,Wed,Thurs. I hope you got the name of the person that you were talking to, because I would report the incident to PODS. Hope everything goes smoothly from here - Hope we will meet at the pool !!

Anne (and Sal, too )

My wife contacted the women she originally dealt with in contracting with PODS. I think she was at corporate. She was very helpful, and said they were aware of the problem in Ocala and were trying to fix it. Apparently it's a franchise feud between Ocala and Orlando ....Ocala didn't get contract to deliver south of 466a and strongly resent having to deliver there. Anyway, the problem was solved. We end up paying a little more than expected, but probably save money in the long run by not having to pay for the extra transportation/miles to Orlando and back to TV. Still, it all could have been avoided with a little better communications. In the meantime, spouse is satisfied...at least, until they start unpacking! ON WITH THE DREAM!!!

Good luck and welcome to you. Sorry about the PODS.

We all need to barrage the national corporate office with complaints. That just isn't right for them to charge so much. They are responsible to point out to you if you are "out" of their franchise area when you enter into the contract instead of waiting and charging extra at the end..

At least that's one more hurdle you've overcome! The list shortens.
