Default Anybody there???????

Hi--This is my first post ever anywhere and I'm not at all sure of what's happening. I've been lurking around in totv for about 3 weeks. Honey and I are coming to TV in 10 days for our second Lifestyle Preview. Actually, that's not really true. We're "previewing" nothing. We're really coming TO PICK OUT OUR NEW HOUSE!!!!!!! I can't wait. We're so excited. And then maybe I'll quit feeling like a Peeping Tom. Please wish us luck. Coco

Thumbs up

Good Luck Coco,
We came down last week, it was our third visit. And it's true, third time is a charm. We bought a pre-owned courtyard villa. TV realtor we had was a joy to work with. The people at the mortgage company were great also, everything went very smooth. We are fortunate, we don't have to sell our primary home, which in this market, is a blessing. Maybe in a few years, but for now, we'll be going back and forth. I'm taking early retirement at the end of the year and don't plan on being just "snowbirds".
I hope you find something.

Reezie

Hi everyone--Thanks for your good wishes. I'm still trying to figure this all out. Maybe I'll get to join a Mac users club when we FINALLY get there. We are looking for a new home or villa in the southern areas although are not adverse to a pre-owned if the price and condition are right. Still a new home after all these years is pretty enticing. I've cleaned enough house and am now hoping for something fairly small. Bonita?? Amarillo?? Does anyone know if there are plenty available in say Hadley or Hemingway? Any advice on things to look out for as far as location (downwind of the chicken farm or something)
Has anyone had a problem with closing by mail?? It's getting a tad expensive to keep running to Florida from Rhode Island. Thanks Coco

Welcome Reezie and Coconut and honey too. This is like a pregnancy..........except better. You know when everyone told you how great it was gonna be? Well this is the real deal.

Remember to pick out a nice house in Hadley because that is where me and sweetie and Helene live and some real fun people too.

Best of luck!!

Hi Coco;

You don't have to lurk any more. Come on out of the woods and greet us. We're actually a pretty friendly crowd, well most of us.

I live in Amelia and haven't noticed a single chicken farm yet. Now there are a couple of nice horse farms in the area on private land but you don't really know they're there except for the large stands of 200 year old oak trees. Oh, and they do have some roosters but even they appear to be retired. Not a sound until about 8:30 or 9:00 a.m. and then it's just a kind of soft croak.

Have fun looking and I think your timing is going to be all right. BTW, closing by mail is a science down here. Not to worry!

Yes, there are plranty available.... nice villas in Bonita and hemmingway is loaded with smaller homes. You'll have no problem. Remember... you can always rent for 3-6 mos until you find the perfect home.
