Default Train noise

Does anyone have experience with train noise in Pennecamp and is there a schedule for when the trains typically come by ?

from what I have been told they come all hours non-stop. That is the main north-south east coast line.
I know when the wife and I have beeen down and are out in the lanai and the wind is right, we hear one around mid-night way up in Bonita!

There is no schedule for the trains. It is a freight line, so it runs when there is freight to be hauled. Certain times of the year (citrus harvest and fertilizer time) they run as many as 18 to 30 a day. Some times of the year, there are only several per day.

I don't know about Pennecamp, but when we did our lifestyle preview we stayed in a house on the west side of TV that overlooked an executive course beyond which was a line of trees and then the train tracks. We could definitely hear the train, but it didn't bother us in the least. In fact, it was nice to listen to. Now, if you take the train and move it to within a hundred yards of the house, then the noise would be a problem for me.

Since Pennecamp is much farther from the tracks than we were in Belvedere, I doubt that you will have any problems - unless you simply can't stand the noise of a train off in the distance.

I live in Poinciana near the stop light at Bailey Trail and St Charles Place which is next to Pennecamp. I have never heard any train noise horn or engine and have lived here full time for 3 years. My hearing is very good.

Default Train Noise

Can not hear the trains but now that the AC is off and the windows are open we can certainly here the frieght train's whistle mostly at night and predawn which I believe the engineer has to blow constantly at every intersection by law if the intersection does not have proper/upgraded to code rail road crossing safety gates. We have seen this before up north where the local politicians rectified the situation

Default rooster crowing

I'm in Sabal Chase - no train noises, but I woke up very early this morning (before dawn) and was sitting on my lanai with my coffee and am positive I heard a rooster crowing for at least 10 minutes. Am guessing it was from south of 466 A, maybe west of Morse Blvd? Anyone else ever hear this? I've only been here for a week this visit (not quite retired, but coming soon)

There are other posts concering the noise from trains near TV if you want to search them out. Basically, the noise is not as bad as it used to be. The railroad has made many changes approximately a year ago due to complaints made by people that live near traks and crossings. The horn volume and tone has been changed, as well as the location of the horn. It has been lowered closer to the tracks and has been made more omnidirectional in an effort to alert more directly in front of the train rather than globally around it.

That must be one big rooster!

South of 466A from Sabal Chase is over 1.5 miles!

Now I have to worry about moving near roosters?

I'm in the same general area as OhioGirl, and I've heard the rooster early in the morning many times. Very faint and need a good east breeze to carry. Probably from houses beyond the east border of The Villages.
