We want to be "golf cart close" to one (or both) of these town squares, but The Villages GPS is giving what seems to be outrageously long golf cart times from the neighborhoods to the squares. For example, last month we were able to take a golf cart ride from Clifford Ct. to Lake Sumter Landing in about 25 minutes, yet Villages GPS is now saying that is a 39-minute trip. The cart was a rental and maxed out at 12 MPH. I don't understand! Is Villages GPS accurate?

Follow-up question. For anyone living in a centrally located neighborhood such as Duval, how long does it take you to drive your golf cart to Lake Sumter or to Brownwood Paddock? Would they both be comfortable rides from Duval? I really appreciate any advice you can offer!!
You could look at homes south of the turnpike. With the new bridge in place Marsh Bend and DeLuna will be about 10 minutes from Brownwood by cart.

I love the Villages APP for the cart. I’m always nice and early for my tee times. The further away the course, the earlier I am!!

We have found the Villages GPS App to be very accurate with respect to the actual directions/guidance, but it almost always indicates a duration of twice what the trip actually takes. We have just factored that into our trips at this point.... All in all for the price, we still found the app quite useful (we're needing it less and less as we've become more familiar with The Villages (2700+ miles on our golf cart since mid-August)...).

We have used the Villages GPS app for golf cart numerous times over the years, mainly when going to someplace we have never been before. The travel times are always off from what is the actual time. How much they are off depends on the distance being traveled. The directions are pretty accurate.

Default Villages GPS

Others seem to think the Villages GPS is not accurate. I have found it to be both accurate and useful. It's a great way to get directions to unfamiliar places, and the timing seems to be appropriate. My golf cart is a PTV governed at 25mph instead of 16mph, and yet I find that I arrive places in only a few minutes less than the app says.

Default The VIllages app

I have found The Villages free app to be accurate in regard to both directions and estimated time for the trip.

I agree! The regular (free!!) The Villages app is great! And provides both accurate, reliable and expected results - for both auto **and golf cart** directions (for everyone in The Villages - both north as well as south of 44 :-) :-) :-) (sure - golf cart times may vary a bit - you may get slowed down due to cart traffic or lots of bikers on the paths - or, you may be one that prefers to travel at 24mph). Variations in time do not bother me - I am just glad to have accurate directions and guidance (from a FREE app)!!!!
