Default Universal Tickets

Anyone know what he best deal is for tickets to Universal Studios? I'm thinking AAA, but is there any other place to get tickets?

Our sons were down for the Christmas holidays last year which included a trip to Universal's Islands of Adventure. We purchased tickets from AAA. There was no discount but as AAA pointed out to us, you won't have to wait on line to purchase tickets, which was accurate. Keep in mind there are certain blackout periods throughout the year which do not qualify for in-state resident discounts. IMHO you want to avoid going to Universal during these blackout periods because the park will likely be filled to capacity, and the lines for attractions will be impossible. We spent close to $400 for the tickets but after 5 hours we accepted the fact that we'd made a mistake coming that week and left. The crowds coming in at 2:00 PM were more than we'd seen at 9:00 am. That day, two hours was the average wait time for any of the attractions.

George:

Are you saying not to go to Universal on days Fla residents can't get a discount?

Yes, absolutely. That's not to say that all other times will be a walk in the park, but there's good reason to believe that Universal has already identified for you peak periods of attendance that you want to avoid--at all costs.
