Were you not vetted by TOTV to make sure you had the ability to read minds before they allowed you to join? Hmmm , must have changed the policy

Miles of barrels, cones and barriers. The road surface in places is disintegrating and dangerous. No workers or progress observed for long periods of time. Local government officials do not seem to care, as long as they receive their salary. Oh well...

I think road construction completion has everything to do with their contracts and incentives. In New Mexico (yes, the end of the earth), road construction was ALWAYS finished on time or ahead of time. Why? Because the contract included incentives for big bonuses for completion ahead of time....days, weeks, months. In the city we lived in, road construction was done at least a month or more ahead of time.
Maybe Florida needs to take a page out of that playbook bc every day there's delays, there's loss revenue for the state bc people won't spend $$, if they have to fight the traffic, idiotic drivers, the 80+age group that still drives and shouldn't!

You have to work faster up North because you only have 8 months to do it in.

As long as the traffic keeps moving, it is not a problem (for some of us).

As a good friend said to me some years ago they did have an architectural drawing show how the highway was supposed to look upon completion but it was lost and nobody wants to admit they have no clue how to finish it.

Thank you for reaching out! This project has not been placed on hold. There are different factors that may affect work on the construction site that can range from weather to labor and materials issues, among other reasons. I will make sure to voice your concerns to the project team and please be rest assured that they are doing their best to move things along and get the job done. kind regards, Lynette Cruz | Community Outreach Coordinator EXP U.S Services In-House FDOT Consultant, District 5 Ocala/Leesburg Construction Office: 352-326-7744 / 352-620-3020 Cell: 352-359-7059 Lynette.Cruz@dot.state.fl.us Your source for information on FDOT projects in Central Florida |
