Default 441 Construction

It seems the construction on 441/27 in the Home Depot vicinity has come to a screeching halt. Anyone know when this construction will resume and what might be the hold up? Thanks.

Just taking a guess coffeebean but maybe it has something to do with the young man who passed there in a construction accident a short while back. It is a crime in this day and age that simple practices seem to not have been followed. Maybe there was not good management on the site. I wonder if they had weekly safety meetings?

Seems to be normal road construction in Florida 466a into Wildwood good 2 years on the other end 466a Fruitland Park was another fiasco and work was suspended for cost overruns and delays. So expect another 2 years and I’m being optimistic

I think it’s just the nature of road construction. Seems to take forever, doesn’t it?

As I recall the part of 466a in Fruitland Park was never fully funded and therefore the delay. The last I saw, I think it was finally funded for later this year or next year. During the associated construction of 466a there were several articles regarding the lack of funding for the piece in Fruitland Park. The big mistake (IMHO) was starting the project without ALL of the funding in place.

Hubby just told me he saw construction workers at the site where the bridge is being removed so I don't think the death of the construction worker is causing the delay.

for whatever reason, road construction seems to take a lot longer in FL than it did up north

They don't have to rush down here because they can work year around.
Once the ground freezes and the snow comes up north most road projects better be finished.

It does seem like it.

Wonder if this causes road costs to be higher?

Everything in Florida moves slower than up north. Not sure the issue, I have never had an issue driving through the area. The lanes are open and the traffic moves along.

Go make a left into Sams parking lot. So convoluted just take a longer way to get in.

To get to Sam's from SB 441, turn RIGHT at the light just past Sam's and make a U-turn ASAP. Go back to the light and make a left. Sam's will be on your right.

Rarely do I ever see construction workers on the road projects here in Florida....my guess is that they must do a lot at night to avoid the heat(??)...yet you don't see any work lights

maybe all the workers are too busy putting out the orange barriers to actually do any real road work
