Is anyone using Acorn and if so, would you explain in words of one syllable, how to use it. At the moment, it appears you can only access the programs on a computer, but they call themselves Acorn TV which gives me the impression they must have a channel.
Thanks for any help.

You can access British TV, both live and "catch up", via your computer through a number of different sources which will usually just give you links to the primary sources such as BBC, ITV, Sky etc.
The key is to trick those primary sources into thinking that your computer is based in the UK, as the programs are not licensed to be shown elsewhere. You can do this yourself for free by using a proxy server (such as FoxyProxy - no relation) or through a subscription service (such as Acorn). Either way, because of the licensing, it is probably illegal. The PBS website usually allows you to watch a number of UK "catch up" programs for free and that, of course, is legal. |
