Carpet runner for bedroom

Bought new carpet for bedroom
Walkway into bedroom is already showing signs of wear.
Looking for some kind of carpet runner that will look good.
I have seen vinyl runners at Lowes
Just wondering if anyone has had a better idea

Use a pretty area rug for a runner.
