Default Forwarding Mail FYI

I wanted to give a heads up to everybody about forwarding mail. This may have been covered before but I could not find it.

If you go online to set up your mail forwarding, make sure you are on the US Post Office official site. There are other web sites that look like the PO web site. The forms on these sites are identical to the PO forms, but once you try to submit they want $30 or $40 dollars. It's very deceiving. I quickly backed out and did not provide any credit card info.

I check with the Post Office, they charge $ 1.05 to your CC. They explained, if you change on line this will verify it's you.

I hope this helps!

Good advice. I had these sites pop up last spring when having my mail forwarded. They are very deceiving until you get to the page where they want to charge your credit card $30 or $40. After reading comments on these sites, a lot of people get scammed.

Another warning. The post office will not forward your mail-in ballot. A voter must notify the elections office of the new address to mail your ballot.
