Not the same to me, I tired it. I think the "secret" that makes Bell's special is the NUTMEG, and not over doing the sage like most poultry seasonings maybe ?

Here is their website;

Where To Buy | Bell's Seasoning & Foods

They are located in Weymouth, MA. I went to school with a daughter of the family that owned the company. They at one time also produced powdered flavors for mixed drinks. Not sure if they're still in that business.

I use it for my stuffing and cannot find it this year.
It comes in a small yellow box with a turkey on it.
Thanks!

I have a box in my pantry which I purchased, not recently, at Publix. If they don't have it, ask at the Service desk, if they could get it for you.

This thread suddenly made me recall one of my earliest memories, probably because it was so embarrassing to me at the time. My mom was in the middle of cooking dinner and realizing she was out of a certain seasoning, she sent my 5 year old self next door to ask the neighbor if she had any that could be borrowed. When I asked the neighbor what my mom had told me to say, the neighbor got a weird look on her face and said to wait a minute. Shortly thereafter, she came back with a small vase and a few bright flowers in it. When I took it home, my mom laughed really hard (I thought at first it was at me), she then called the neighbor on the phone and sent me back for the real "Kitchen Bouquet."

I just searched and even 65 years later - they still make it. lol

we were surprised about 5 years ago in late January when we tried to find Bell's Seasoning at the local Publix's that we shopped at in Ft Lauderdale. The manager told us that it was a 'seasonal product' and that they were out of stock.

we ended up 'borrowing' some from a neighbor, ever since we've kept a backup box of Bell's in the cabinet

both my wife and I grew up with Bell's seasoning and mild sausage incorporated into the stuffing...and that's how we always make...just can't help ourselves.

My sister in law used White Castles to make dressing one Thanksgiving. It wasn't bad but make sure you remove the pickles. Lol

P.S. Does anyone put giblets in the dressing/stuffing? I boiled them for years and added them, now I give them to the kitties and put cooked ahead chicken in the dressing/stuffing.

I do put giblets in my dressing after parboiling them. It adds immeasurably to the flavor IMHO.

:ohdear: NOT SOLD OUT - $2.71 last night at Publix on Bichara. Wasn't with the spices. It was on an end-cap. Just ask. :)

We cook it as a side casserole and I have prepared three different kinds...and served them all as choices. We had a son in law who liked cornbread, husband liked oyster and most who liked celery onion. NONE had sausage, but I am open to it. Sounds great. When I reached adulthood, all Thanksgivings were at MY house so I have no clue what other people eat.

Keep suggestions coming.

:shocked: I think that's way tooooooo long! :icon_wink:
