Default My grandson

Quentin is remembered - thanks for all your prayers and kind thoughts, we said our final goodbyes this morning. No need to respond, I know you all care and are thinking of us, and I am forever grateful.

Thank you for sharing that article Ed. I hope it wakes up teenagers who may want to try mixing and messing around with drugs.

I saw the title of the post and I was afraid to open and read it. Thoughts and prayers.

You are in my thoughts...such a senseless and tragic loss. Unfortunately, as a high school teacher, I see this far too much. Please know I will share your grandson's story (no names) with my students tomorrow. Many condolences to your entire family.

When the decision was made to let Q go and donate parts of his body per his request, we talked as a family about the hundreds of people (the people who received the organ gift and their friends and family) he would positively affect with this most selfless of acts. I brought up at the time that I would guess he would affect many more among his friends, dozens of whom kept constant vigil in the hospital, that might be more careful in the future, and thus save other young lives. Please tell your students that this was a handsome, loving, caring, polite, and grounded young athlete with everything to live for, who made a stupid mistake and paid with his life. It can happen to any of you and it can happen in the snap of ones finger, leaving a permanent hole in the world, and in the hearts of those you love. Don't let them be an object lesson to someone else.

You are a wise, loving, caring and honorable man, Ed.....and Quentin admired you very much, I have absolutely no doubt. Quentin is a chip off his Popeye's shoulder and by signing that donor card showed just how much he loved and cared for his fellow man.

Remember your Quentin with smiles, laughter, love and PRIDE.....he is quite a young man!

Default Selfless

It was so thoughtful of you to post the party/drug-alcohol abuse connection. At this horribly painful time for your family, instead of keeping the reason to yourself, you put it out there so that perhaps someone else may learn from it and avoid the same fate. Very selfless.

Quentin was a very special boy to sign a donor card and his loving decision will unquestionably make a profound difference in many lives. Some of us can live many years on this planet and not affect as many lives as Quentin has in his short time here. Thank you sharing him with us. God bless!!
