Default Buying First Golf Cart

What are some of the better golf businesses in the Village area? I’m going to check The village Golf carts but I would at least like to look at other places. If I decided to buy a used cart from an individual is there anyone I could hire to go over it.? While I’ve driven golf carts, this would be the first time I’ve ever bought one. Thanks

I see no one has answered you as of yet but I would imagine you will get lots of "opinions".
Over the years there have been tons of posts about this subject. Try the SEARCH above and you can read what others have said. Again, these are opinions. I have lived here since 2003 and have owned many different carts, electric and gas. Yamaha Quitech gas carts still rule the area, but lithium battery electric carts are coming on strong. The "big3" cart companies are Yamaha, Club Car and EZGO, all manufactured in the US. With those you will always be able to get parts in the future if needed. With many off-brand carts, it is hard to say what the future holds.
One last point, if you do buy a cart from The Villages Cart Stores you will always be able to get service and parts and you will have priority to get it done with a loaner cart to use. Some say they are more expensive but in the long run probably not.

Can't you just take them to a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection center?

OP, you did not state if you were looking only at new or considering a refurbished, we bought a refurbished Yamaha (2017) from Villages Discount Golf carts, route 441, just North of 42. The cart came with all of the goodies we wanted, a warranty, and on-site service since they are outside the Villages. There are several dealers outside the villages that offer similar services.

I recommend you check out Country Village Power Equipment in Webster, FL.

I open to new or refurbished probably a gas cart but I’m not certain.

We also bought used from Villages Discount Golf carts.
Any future repairs were done Labor free, parts paid by us, Included in the deal. We did have a gasket leak and paid only for the gasket. True to their word.

Villages Discount Golf Carts on 466 is where I bought mine. NOT associated with Villages Golf Carts. Excellent service, took my old electric cart in on trade, all options that you may want are available, and they service my cart every year at my house. Bought a gas cart. I like it more than the electric.

Carts & Clubs in Ocala if you want to save thousands compared to the Villages. They deliver.

May want to look at One Stop Golf Carts on 301 in Wildwood. They have a newer elen brand called Atlas. It’s a newer company in the Carolinas. Their management is a bunch of ex management from one of the competitors, it’s all in Atlas’s bio.
Our neighbor had to return a 4 forward elen Star cart from TV. Sadly that NEW cart was full of gremlins.
Their new Atlas 4 forward was in stock. Bought yesterday, being delivered today.

I believe Carts and clubs are now owned by the Villages Golf Carts. Just haven't changed their name.

We plan to buy another cart this year. We will either buy new from Carts & Clubs in Ocala or refurbished again from Village Discount Golf Carts on 466.

Will not buy from The Villages golf cart stores. Overpriced & service very questionable. Too many technician issues from different neighbors who regret purchasing there.

Yamaha has a 4-year warranty for that gasket and an additional year added if you purchased from The Villages Golf Cart Stores. If your cart was under 4 years old, you should not have paid for the gasket.
On the other hand, you did not buy your cart from an authorized Yamaha dealer so that could by why that gasket was not covered.
