Default Allegiant Airlines on strike Thursday morning

Hope this is not a problem for Villagers.

Can't find website that gave Thursday morning as strike date, hmmmm! I don't dream these things up. Off to cyber space I guess.
I need to post original site, sorry!

After that 60 Minutes report saying it was the most dangerous airline in the developed world? Not likely! 60 Mins averages a 43 rating and a 68 share in TV.
Second only to the Super Bowl. Once, Andy Rooney came and he didn't have to pay for a drink the entire time. Though he did find little things to complain about.

I heard there was some dis-satisfaction with having a pair of dice painted on the tail and body of the plane!

The thread is wrong. The pilots' union has authorized a strike if needed but no date has been set. The issue is not safety, rather that the union and the airline had an agreement in 2016 to have Allegiant come into conformity with how other airlines scheduled their pilot work shifts, and Allegiant reneged on that agreement.

Unfortunately the issue for Allegiant IS SAFETY.
The fact that the union is not being more forceful regarding the abysmal safety history/experience speaks loudly to their distorted priority.

Are you being deliberately obtuse? This thread is about a possible strike at Allegiant. The original post said a date was set, and it was wrong. Then all the subsequent posts dealt with safety, which while a legitimate topic was not germane to whether there was going to be a strike. So I give the actual reason that a strike was authorized and you attack me?
Pilot fatigue is a very real safety issue. The pilot's union has been very clear about that concern. But I must say I enjoy seeing people citing CBS's 60 minutes as a reliable source of information. And this particular pilot's union has a record of going public with safety concerns at the airline where they work. It is possible to have more than one priority.. safety and workplace rules which impact safety are two.

So your attack on the union is completely misdirected.

ATTACK?
My response had no intention what so ever of "attacking".......just a simple statement of an opinion.
We are all entitled to an opinion or opposing opinion, but not restating another posters intent.

Maybe you didn’t intend to, but you were clearly bashing the union based on your opinion of the union’s priorities. Blue ash pointed out your opinion was based on factual inaccuracy.

Interpretation is to to thoughts as beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

"...opinion was based on factual inaccuracy..."
a very large assumption being made to facilitate a point....

An opinion is an opinion factual/obtuse/accurate/inaccurate/prejudiced/biased/et al.
