I'm moving to a new house and cant decide whether to get a pool or swim spa. I've had a pool before but mainly want to do walking and Arobics, and a swim spa would be less expensive. But i like the idea of an inground pool. Any swim spa owners out there who love their swim spa? Can anyone recommend a make? Pros and cons?

Why not wait six months to see what your lifestyle will be? There are lots of pool aerobic classes offered. And some people enjoy the adult pools for the opportunity to meet new friends.

We had an in ground swim spa in our last house, we have since moved within TV. We liked the spa, it had the water jets for resistance swimming. There was some maintenance but my husband balanced the chemicals in the water, very little work for him. We had solar panels installed to keep the temperature up, still had to use the heater but didn't have to take as long to heat up with the panels. In our new home we are installing a BullFrog spa, above ground, putting birdcage up around it. We usually only used the one end of the swim spa where the jets were and just sitting, so that's why we decided this time around to just do a spa. To each his own, we didn't want a pool due to higher maintenance and heating costs, I go to the pools to swim laps so no pool would be large enough for me to do that in a home here in TV.

We have an above ground Micheal Phelps Momentum Swim Spa. It has the propulsion waves. It also has a hot tub. Look them up on line. If you become interested, message me and you can come see it. It is 20 ft long and I think 8 ft wide.

I agree with barefoot, move in, get settled, see what the local and recreational pools have to offer. We had determined before we moved that we did not want a pool, the neighborhood pool is 2 blocks away, but we did want a hot tub/spa. Waited a few months, and then purchased a 6 person unit, and I use it 3-4 times per week, winter to warm up, summer to cool down.

Pool will give you better resale and return on investment. Everyone from up north wants a pool. Well many of them do.

A resident of hillsborough is getting a 75 foot lap pool.
