Whenever I buy a new car I tell them DON'T put one on the car in the first place.

I only leave it on if they pay me to advertise for them. No dealer has ever agreed

I hear ya!
I always remove the dealer stickers. A hair dryer takes them off nice and clean.

Dealer Advertising
I don't let them put their stickers on the body of my car, but a license plate frame is okay when I just purchased a new car.

I remove them, or tell the dealer not to put them on....

I'm right there with you. The practice burns me up. But remember the days when the dealer name was on a metal label that was drilled and mounted on your trunk?

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who hates this. I started telling them to take off their advertising about 25 years ago when I told a dealer to take off the advertising and he looked at me as though I was crazy. I then said "well then it will cost you $50/month advertising fee" and he said "we can't do that" then....take them off! When one dealer told me they wouldn't take off the plate frame I bluntly told him as soon as I signed the papers it would be thrown in the trash on my way out the door. I have had about 5 cars over the course of that time and the only one who never questioned my was the last one when I bought my Santa Fe in 2019.

It is a fond memory and I like how they do business. Keeping their logo brings smiles .. at least for now. It's my phase and my choice.

I have the dealership name on my license plate frame. It’s not hurting anyone and it looks better than the plain plate.
There are more important things to worry about. This isn’t one of them. |

WOW And people wonder why a love hate relationship exits between Dealers and the Village people. Amazing how many people chime in about such a silly thing . Only in TV would so many people be worried about such a silly thing. I am not a dealer and I am all for getting the best price but really folks do we not have better things to do with are time .

I'm constantly removing those items, but when it goes in for service they put it back on. I agree with you, they want me to advertise...pay up.

When I purchase a new vehicle I request the advertising be removed before I take possession. I politely let them know that they aren’t paying me for advertising. It’s never been a problem.
