Default Car Rental from Tampa Airport

We maybe flying into Tampa this trip instead of Orlando..On site car rentals are close to $1000. for two weeks..Has anyone used Payless, Advantage or Sixt car rental? We usually use alamo, or hertz and do not have any idea of off site shuttles and how was their service..thanks in advance

Just clicked over to priceline.com and checked prices for 2 weeks in July, Sunday to Sunday. I see Payless is 364 total for an economy whereas the big names are 1000. You could try name your own price and usually get a better deal. Of course you never bid higher than the price you would pay on the listed prices. Over at hotwire.com where they don't tell you what company, but are always majors they have 2 weeks for 321 "in terminal" I would suggest that a car is a car. All these agencies will have clean and well maintained cars or they wouldn't stay in business at the airport and priceline and hotwire are big enough that they have clout. You could also call a car company you have frequently used and ask them to match the price you see online and they can verify. But don't expect that to work.

I've used all three and not had any problems. I particularly liked Sixt, and like Advantage the least of those three. Seriously, they all have good cars, so go with the cheapest.

Go to Hotwire online and you'll get deep discount prices just like price line but without bidding. The rates are always best with a full-week or even better, a 2-week rental.

Try different lengths of time like one week, two weeks, etc. Even if you don't use it a full 2 or 3 weeks, the rate will be drastically lower than the car companies directly.

I also got a killer deal on Hotwire.com when we went to Detroit Metro Airport. As long as the company has an airport shuttle that runs often it should work.
