Just look at the BBB reports and then do a Google search on Car Shield reviews. I did this several months ago, the negative reviews were so bad I would never consider this company. Disclaimer: I generally do not believe in extended warranties.

I think extended warranties for anything are a ripoff. Typically, they only spend about 8 percent of the premiums they collect for repairs. I like the television commercials where Chris Berman says how glad he is to have Car Shield to protect him from costly car repairs. The guy has a net worth of $30 million. Do you really think he needs Car Shield?

Why do you think you need car shield? Do you really think that buying insurance is cheaper than getting your car repaired if there is an issue? even if the insurance will pay for the repairs.

I did the same thing after the 4-millionth commercial about that company. Wow, the info on the Internet reviews about the company and the information on the BBB web site. . . I encourage anyone considering that "warranty" to do some serious due diligence across the "net" before making your final decision.

I follow consumer agencies advice that extended warranties, are almost never worth it. And the more they bombard with advertising, the more cautious I am and likely to steer clear.

Like any insurance policy, insure what you can not afford.

I bought my 1st ext warranty on a used MB 7 years ago. It took 1 week for it to pay for itself. The rear window would not go down when I put the top down. Repair cost over $2000. my deductable $200. On my new truck I waited until the factory warranty was due to expire and went back to the dealership where my brother has worked for 15+ years and had them write a ext warranty. Much better than car shield less money. The service writers say car shield is terrible and advised to stay away.

I would never recommend additional warranty. Either pay the repairs or buy a different car.

Buy a good car and take care of it and in the long run extended warranty not worth it.

Actually it is worth it for the companies selling it.

Purchased an air fryer a few weeks ago and the cashier to sell me an extended warranty. Wonder how much in commission she gets if she finds a sucker.

Waste of money as are all extended warranties.

Every time I get that call for my extended car warranty I ask how much for my Rambler and they hang up on me. If I was to buy an extended warranty I would buy from the dealer.

Most extended warranties sold by dealers are also third party warranties and they are a huge ripoff.
