Perry Mason! I can still hear the show's theme tune in my head!

Their plastic surgeons are geniuses and no doubt quite well off from their remarkable efforts.

I regret not becoming a Hollywood plastic surgeon. My parents did not have the income to see me through that much schooling and training. Oh well...

It was a bit of a shock when my Dad mentioned Perry Mason's boyfriend. He had had various insurance claims with famous people in Las Vegas, Reno, and Northern CA.

I'll bet!

He had lots of compatriots on the same team. Tab Hunter, Rock Hudson, Jim Nabors, Roman Gabriel. Hollywood used to keep it under wraps. Now it is all public knowledge.

His old water toy, the Wild Goose, is still in use. I have been on it as people hire it for parties and cruise around the bay. Wild Goose | Newport Beach |
Hornblower

He lived on the Back Bay in Newport Beach with his wife, Pilar. I have heard some really funny stories about his antics around town. SNA, the airport with three names, John Wayne, Orange County and Santa Ana, contains a huge bronze statue of him. http://www.ocair.com/terminal/jwstatue

Would have liked to hear some of the stories about John Wayne. His last movie , The Shootest, was filmed near Reno, Nevada. This was in Carson City, Nevada and other places near Reno. The Shootist (1976) - Rotten Tomatoes

Unlike many of the films made in Sonoma County and other Northern California from 1986-1996, I was not busy walking the dog around movie production trailers near Reno like I had in Rohnert Park, CA. These movie production trailers were 300 feet out my backdoor where they were parked at the Red Lion Inn. Stallone sneaked into the hotel dressed in a nun's habit!!!

Here is a John Wayne story. 20+ years ago I was in a store in Costa Mesa and overheard a retired policeman tell the sales clerk about how he once stopped this old beat up station wagon with an old bald guy driving it for running a stop sign. He asked for the man's license which identified him as Marion Morrison. The cop then said "I don't know you but you sure look familiar." The guy responded "Ya ever been to the movies?" in his John Wayne voice! The cop then realized who he was as Wayne wore a toupee in films. The clerk then asked the cop if he gave Wayne a ticket. The cop responded "Nah, I let him go."

Had not known John Wayne was bald. Kind of paints a new picture like Sylvester Stallone sneaking into the Red Lion Inn with a nun's habit. The press did not park out at the hotel. It was not an item well known to anyone but people who lived in Rohnert Park, CA that some movie studios had contracts with that hotel or something like that.

Lots of movies were and still are filmed in that area of Northern CA. Stallone was in Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot (1992) - Rotten Tomatoes which has parts of it filmed in that area. Terrible movie by-the-way.
