Very wise, IMO once you on FB you’re personal information is out there for ever and sold to highest bidder. Same with a$$who, google, and And other free site. They don’t become millionaires/billionaires by offering something for free. There no free ride.

Lot of people don't agree and find Facebook wonderful to see distant friends and family and trade jokes and opinions. Just like ANY online experience, people need to be wary and try to be careful. I think you are missing something you would enjoy. I don't understand the part "They don't become millionaires/billionaires by offering something for free". They earn money through advertising. Just like this forum. I find Facebook enormously helpful to see what our family is doing and thinking and likewise my friends. Many, many people who post on TOTV are on Facebook. You can choose who are your friends and you can limit who sees your posts.

100% agreed. You can also choose to see ads, or not see ads, on Facebook. So it's not even forced on you. You can also set security settings for individual posts - so if you wanted to just remind yourself of something, or archive some photos, you can set those specific things to "me only" viewing. And then, NO one else can see those things at all. At some point you might want to make them visible ONLY to your friends, with no sharing allowed. At that point, your friends might share them with other people by copying and pasting, but they wouldn't be able to use the "share" option to share them.

There are enough security options on Facebook that most users should have nothing to worry about. There are also non-Facebook security options, such as ad blockers, and even a Facebook-specific third-party app called Fluff Buster Purity (FBP) that can block specific things, hide any ads containing specific words or topics, notify you when specific people do this that or the other thing, and even send you notifications when someone blocks or removes you from THEIR friends' list.

It's much more secure, in fact, than this forum (which is pretty secure, as fora go).
