But Red, I am still gonna publicly remind everyone that there is no pee in Lake Sumter.

Whew. OH Happy Day. Love you Red.

Come February I am going to officially put the pee in that lake to settle this.
Maybe I will make the newspaper.

Walter I am amazed you were able to type this - reading it is easy once you get going, but I've never tried to type something like that!

And I have to say that every time I see your picture of the cat with the helmet I laugh. It's just to cute and such a good reminder not to take oneself or life so seriously. :ho:

Thank you.

LOL....I could never. It's the old cut and paste routine!

For what it is worth, the word on the street is.....people don't like to post because they think a 'certain few' run the boards and criticize and correct people. Don't kill the messenger....just sayin;-)

There is truth to that, but it's not just the 'certain few'. Even happened in this thread ("this thread is silly"). People are made to feel that they have to justify every post to the "why did you post this" crowd. It is not rare and it is not 1%.

You have to have a certain level of confidence to post on a public forum. There are many who have their own agenda and are not happy about anything and they will criticize you. Some people love it here. Some people wouldn't love it anywhere.

When you have lived to be the five decades level, you have had a lot of life experiences and have formed some pretty unbendable ideas. This forum has a lot of sparks ignite and some people do not have a spec of diplomacy.

Sometimes it is ugly on any forum, but the moddies on this forum and many posters keep a lot of folks in line, and if they get too acid the Admin will throw them out.

Very funny! We need more of this kind of stuff! There's enough problems in this world already. Now, if you'll excuse me, I just saw a gator run by my neighbor's house and I must go catch it!

For the time being, I live alone. When I'm home I'm multitasking including TOTV. It's company. For a teacher it's a little like a faculty room that you drop into throughout the day. I also hesitate to express an opinion that may also go against the grain. For me, the main reason is respect. It's like Thanksgiving Dinner or the faculty room. You may know how to push your Uncle's buttons or the seasoned Department Chairman's but you don't. I think it's OK to pm people, your friends, your opinions when you know it's safe to think outside the bubble.

My favorite threads are the old stories of other peoples lives, their history. I loved it when I asked for your first phone number and someone said "two longs and a short." I enjoyed hearing first hand accounts of what went on during the Cuban Missile crisis.

I have noted some deleted posts and sense that for some it is hard to live in a predominantly conservative area.
