That's very true. In the US no matter how bad things are, there is always hope.

Let us all find a few minutes and give thanks and a prayer to the men and women serving in the military that step in harms way to provide for us the freedoms we enjoy so much!!

Let us not forget their families that they leave behind too!!!!!

Happy Fourth of July to you and yours as well.....
If I wasn't in Vermont, I'd rather be in Iowa at the Amana Colonies; one of the prettiest spots on earth. We have very simple tastes.

Old fashioned Fourth of July in Stowe Vermont. Click above hyperlink.

Yes, we are so very very fortunate and truly blessed to be living in the United States of America.

The "4th" is a big deal in all of the small towns throughout Vermont.........where people are the salt of the earth, plain spoken, patriotic as the day is long......and truthfully, we've never seen anyone run around naked, as per other poster. Vermont is not in Connecticut. Our well publicized heroin problem (brought in by the big city drug dealers to get "some" aimless young adults hooked, is being attacked by the new drug task force. No one in Vermont wants these drug sellers up here.

It's a vicious cycle when those addicted, then have to SELL in order to support their habit.

It was not like this when we raised our children from 1970 to 1994 when they relocated out of state after college and marriage.......one returned to raise her family in beautiful quaint, charming Vermont. Our son , who returns yearly, loves his birth state......however, his home is now Colorado, another gorgeous natural state with magnificent scenery.

We are a very low population state.....where people still keep their doors unlocked and keys in their pickup truck. Lots of familial history here. Back in the "hippy generation" there were small enclaves of them who came up from affluent families in the northeast to "settle" the land. Many of them are now teaching in our schools and universities. It takes all kinds. After 911, many business people from the greater New York/New Jersey metropolitan area migrated up here, especially after the iodine pills were handed out "just in case" the Indian River Nuclear Power Plant was attacked. They have all assimilated into small town America..........

Vermont is God's Country.......natural and beautiful, peaceful and serene.....where everyone knows your name. Where a full town of 15,000 souls can be totally surrounded by the Green Mountain Forest and pastoral farmlands with covered bridges over babbling streams..........at one time there were more cows in Vermont than people.........probably still is. Where you can be the only one on the road when traveling.......except for the moose and deer.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY TO ALL THE FRIENDLY VILLAGERS IN THE VILLAGES, FL.
