I only drink once day. From the time I get up to the time I go to bed. IMO Alcohol is crutch and excuse. Like It keeps me warm. The buzz helps me make it through the day or I can't remember I was drunk! And the biggest losers are the one's that can't wait for Happy Hour.

Proven fact Wino's are very healthy. Never seen fat one. Never seen one that had blood problems. Seen some that had liver problems.. Beer makes you fat hence the term Beer Belly. Grain Alcohol is the Darth Vader. I can always spot Grain Alcohol (Fancy moonshine) over indulgent. Shakes, Nose is swelled and beat red. One step away from the coffin. As For LSD only Pot head would think it's good thing. Drink up sooner or later it will get ya...

I support not drinking folks when they are alcoholics, for religious reasons and so on,

Never in so many things that are normal excepted behavior by the majority can certainly be considered extreme. Beware of extremists. We are a democratic society with a mix of faiths, races, and even entertainment methods. Do your thing your way, but allow others the same courtesy.

Its 5 o'clock somewhere!

We have plenty of friends that do not drink and they have just as much fun as we do. They are not smarter than us unless we have one too many.

We have met the type of people you are referring too, the ones who think they are better than everyone else. We choose not to associate with those people.

This is the first post, that I totally agree with you.

It has been proven that people who have one drink per day live longer than teetotalers. People who have a drinking problem like alcoholics, shouldn't be drinking. If someone doesn't want to drink for religious reasons, that's ok too.
Some people don't like the taste of alcohol and that's fine. There are also people that have a family history of alcoholism, that won't drink too. To each his/her own.

Moderation, and tolerance, for all people, is strongly recommended. IMHO

Agree to disagree, respectfully.

So, if one drink a day helps you live longer, I'm thinking I should live to be about 1,000.

And you got me when I became a SAGE. Could that mean it took me Two Thousand Five Hundred Posts to become lovable or the ten years I have been on TOTV that I finally calmed down from my wild life. HUMMMMMM what a dilemma. One thing for sure in my mind, I have came full circle on TOTV and I am ready to accept peace and understanding in my future no matter how different that is from my upbringing.

No. I don't. I used to drink when I was in college and shortly thereafter. But one day I just stopped, haven't done it since and don't miss it one bit. I'm just as happy with a nice cold Coke.

Exclamation No Humor

Of course everyone has the right to driink if they wish, but I don't see any humor in someone drinking as it is a serious application of a drug. How many actually know that alcohol is the only drug that effects EVERY organ of the body. To demonstrate what I mean if you had 3 patients come into your office and one had OD'd on Coke, one on Heroin, and one on Alcohol. Which would you watch more closely. It would be the one that OD's on the alcohol as they have the best chance of dying. Hard to believe, but if you treated addicts you would see this is the practice. Again, everyone who drinks is not going to OD or get drunk and ruin their family but a large percentage do and therefore each should manage their drinking closely. No, I don't drink but I don't make judgements on who do nor do I think less of them. I respect everyones right to drink but don't over look the risks each face and the impact on the family who must deal with those that exceed limits. Humor has no place for the person who is fighting the need to stop or the one who is on his/her way to a Rehab for treatment. There is nothing funny about alcohol. One other point..Take a sponge and put it in the sun and let it really dry out. Take it outside and squeeze it and see it crumble like sand. That is the liver after more than moderate use of alcohol. THere is no cure. Knowlege is important !!

I"ll take my chances.
I could also bowl 300 tonight and die of a seizure from the excitement. Actually it's pretty safe I'll be back the way I bowl.
Believe it or not I only drink water when bowling.
