Sabra (person) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sabras, people who seem prickly and rejecting or out there, but are really available, loyal and in touch when you get to know them? I far prefer a sabra as a friend than someone who seems sweet and then turns monster.

You're talking about people from New Jersey. Some of the hardest people to get to know, and some of the truest, best people on earth.

I know some of the other kind too. Sweet on the outside and sweet on the inside and loyal to the very end....but don't push them to the very end. And every sweet person has their "hot" buttons.

Are Sabras like Scorpios?...although I am not into signs.

P.S.

I am told I was born under the Sunoco sign.

A little history.....while I guess the term Sabra can describe anyone who is tough on the outside, but sweet on the inside, it was originally used to describe a new generation of Israelis. It was the Israelis that were bought up on Kibutzes and were for the most part native born. At least, that is how I always understood the term.

I am a Sabra because I was born in Israel. That is what you call a person who is born in Israel. It is still true today.

Well that explains it shalmuall. You don't seem prickly and tough to me. You seem soft and sweet to me.

shalom=hello, till we meet again, peace and farewell
all=y'all
but all three have presence in a room where one Israeli is present, and any two are enough for discourse.

Thank you Graciegirl. Israelis need to be tough on the outside at least while living in Israel.

Agreed.

I've run across the latter...all too many times.
