Default Ring Doorbell

I was interested in having the Ring doorbell installed.
My question is with a west facing door ( the sun beats down on it all
afternoon ) would this cause any problems?
Thanks!

I doubt that it would be a problem.

You can adjust the camera sensitivity on Blink cameras. I assume the Ring system is the same.

Yes, you can. And, you can also adjust the camera coverage area.

My Husband should be able to install it himself.

I had one in Ohio facing the hot sun in the summer with no problem…actually brought it with me and now on my new house.

Default 'Ring' stuff

While living in Palm Springs, I had a Ring Door bell, (facing south west) plus cameras and a Ring solar recharging panel and never had any problems and all worked great.

Yes, takes about half an hour if you do it yourself.

Note that, if you connect the Ring Doorbell to the existing doorbell button wires, the Ring will also operate the old doorbell and the low voltage current will keep the Ring battery charged. I highly recommend doing that.

Another option to look at is the Arlo Wireless (or Wired) doorbell. Much cheaper, wider field of view, and nearly identical feature set.

Both work the same way, and install the same way.

Here's a pretty good comparison:

My daughter has had one for three years that faces west and is in the sun most of the day, and has had no problems with it at all.
