Default Why did you chose your forum name.

I remember that there was a thread some time ago asking about how you chose your forum name, and with so many new members I thought it was time to start it anew. I'll start by describing my choice of skyguy79.

Back in the 60's & 70's I belonged to and marched with four different drum & bugle corps; The Troy Skyliners, Syracuse Brigadiers, Interstatesmen from Troy NY and my last was with the New York Skyliners from Jersey City, NJ. The picture below is from my final year of marching and it was with the NY Skyliners in 1979.

The photo was taken by a professional photographer named Moe Knox, and it was during one of our shows while we were performing in competition. I am the one on the right and the instrument is a baritone two valve bugle. The only thing missing on our uniforms that day were the plumes in our shakos. They were pulled whenever there was a threat of rain as they would be ruined if rained upon.

No reason. My name is Bonnie, but that was taken so I spelled it with a Y.

I gave Sandy the nickname "Brillo" soon after we first met eons ago. She has naturally curly hair - VERY curly. She used to have a large natural Afro back in the day - curls as tight as a Brillo Pad. Hence the nickname. Some people feel it's an offensive name - she likes the name and so do I. If she had ANY issue with it, the name would've gone away long ago.......believe me!

And I'm Bill...........well, cuz that's what my mom and dad came up with.

I've been dreaming of living in Florida since being born and raised in the Philly Area, then being assigned their while in the AF for 6 years, meeting my wife who now shares the dream, and visiting Fla for the past 25 years.....

I'm a PALM nut, and so I thought I'd use the botanical name for one of the many that I grow, Serenoa repens (saw palmetto). It's the avatar pic that I use, also.

I thought Serenoa had a nice, peaceful, serene sound to it (sarah-noah). And much easier to pronounce than Trachycarpus or Rhapidophyllum. LOL

Lbmb are our initials and the numbers are significant in our lives.
I am not good in technology and i did not realize one could be more creative w the names
We are not even in Facebk; this is the only online community we participate in.

BTW, "Brillo" could be also a person with sparkle, brilliance, so, all in all, not a bad nickname.
Plus it resonates w the double B's.

I'm a "lightworker" who work with "energy" and "light" to help others "lighten up" and the number 8 represents balance.

888 is the luckiest combination of numbers in Chinese numerology.

Covers alot of bases!
