Default Uncle Donald's Farm & Carney Island Park

I have my 22 month old grandson coming this weekend...Wondering if any of you have taken your grandchildren to Uncle Donald's Farm...Looks interesting..
Also, they are looking for a beach to go to...Someone told me of Carney Island State Park off of Sunset Harbor Rd....Anyone ever been there???They say there is a beach on Lake Weir there ..also, playground, hiking trails, etc,

Thank for any information you might share!!

I did not find the thread I mentioned.
However, I would stay away from any fresh water lakes or ponds. There are warnings about a virus or bacteria in warm water ponds.
Go to Daytona or Clearwater for the ocean or gulf to be safe.
Or even better use TV pools.

We went to Uncle Donald's farm a few weeks ago. $9 to get in to see nothing. We did not pay the $9 so I do not know how much nothing we did not see. But it was a ripoff from what we could see.

First time I have heard of Carney Island State Park. Googled it and there it was, a park on Lake Weir near Belleview. Looks nice - will try to check it out when we get back to TV.

You might also look into Rainbow Springs and Alexander Springs Parks. Both are very nice and have swimming in the springs. Alexander has a sandy beach, while Rainbow has a swimming dock. Both are about a 45 minute drive from TV. Rainbow to the West in Dunnellon (which has some nice thrift and antique stores) and Alexander to the East off Hwy 42 to Hwy 19 North.

Thanks so much for the info!!! I guess now, my major concern is when all the rain is going to stop!!!! (although we do need it!!) I guess we'll take it day to day....Just seeing my little grandson will be enough for me!!!:
