Default Day Trip Help

Please help recommend a day trip for our guests and us this Saturday.

1) Mount Dora

2) Carriage Museum and then Lunch at Lake Weir. We have heard of a good restaurant on the lake but can't remember what it is. They saw planes land on the lake and great view of boats. Help please.

The Carriage Museum is a great place to visit.

Are you thinking about Gator Joe's? It is off of rt 25 on Lake Weir.

Default Gator Joes

Hey Guys,
We live fairly close to that restaurant and highly tout it. It's old Florida and good food right on the water.
And, if you weren't aware, Ma Barker and one of her sons were killed by the FBI near there.
Google Gator Joes & Ocklawaha for the website. We're new here and can't post it.
Also, there's a festival going on this weekend at Cedar Key, a quaint little fishing community on the Gulf Coast about an hour or so drive from here. We've been numerous times and plan on going ourselves Saturday. And, there's a really good restaurant on the water with a great view too;
Again, I can't post the actual website but the restaurant is frogslanding.
We hope you and your guests enjoy your trip on Saturday, wherever you decide to go!
Don't you just love all the choices here? We've been here for over 21 years now and wouldn't leave for anything!

Virginians:

Gator Joe's is huge fun. BUT, I strongly recommend you seek a seat out under the "tiki huts" over Lake Weir's waters. Inside is okay, but really just a bar. Outside, you can watch folks playing on the beach, maybe a float plane come right up to the restaurant, be amused by the antics of the ever-present grackles.

One of my favorite places, especially for lunch.
