Walk into your bathroom, get ready to shower. Look at your bath products and towels. When you dress check all of your labels on each garmet. What is made in the USA? At your leisure check items in your home, appliances, furniture and accessories. There are websites listing products made in the USA but it seems to be really difficult to buy only USA. Just something to do if you get bored.

I really do not any reason for a person to say they will only buy items made in the USA. We export products. We expect other countries to buy our products.
Yes, we import more than we export. Americans like to save money. The cost of labor is high in the US and low in Mexico, Pakistan, and China. Corporations are taxed in the US so they send manufacturing out of the country. Would you rather pay $$$$ for an American made item or $ for the same quality item made in El Salvador? Me - I will take the less expensive. |

I just ate a delicious apple. It was grown in USA and picked by an illegal alien.
I will tee off later today with my TaylorMade driver. It was made in the USA by a German owned company. I am typing this post on an HP computer. It was "assembled" in USA. It would be easier to sew a cobweb to a dream than to exclude all foreign made products. Hell, my wife wasn't even made in USA. |

I try to buy USA products because it supports our USA workers; however, it is a challenge but getting better.

I remember refrigerators that lasted 20+ years...toasters and coffee makers made to last years.. ...cat and dog food that didn't contain melamine and poison your pets... Toothpaste that didn't contain DEG (a chemical found in anti-freeze)...Toys that weren't coated in lead-based paint...tilapia, cod and shrimp not loaded with hormones and unsafe bacteria that even the Chinese refuse to eat it. For me, it's not about cheap labor but also about health and safety issues...not just for the buyer but also the "cheap laborer." For those of you just now starting to wonder where all the American-made products went...for those who support free trade...you do realize that China will not allow items sold in their country by foreign companies unless that company builds the factory in China. Imagine if we turned that around and required China to develop factories in America... I'll get off my soapbox now...for me, the good old "safe" days of American-made is what made America good. Top 5 Imported Foods From China You Should Avoid |
