Default upholstery fabric

Besides JoAnns or Calico Corner in Alamonte Springs, are there any home decor fabric stores within an hour drive? Are there any design centers that carry books with fabrics?

Go to Fabric.com. They are wonderful. They will sell you swatches or a yard to see if it is a good color match. I would use the yard to cover a couple of throw pillows if I didn't choose it. Many of their fabrics are nine dollars a yard, originally MUCH more as you know.

I found the quality and service was great and used them for many window coverings, upholstery for outside furniture and shower curtain enclosures for this house and our past house. They have all the famous fabric manufacturers: Waverly, etc. ...They ship it free if you spend more than $35.

I also love fabricguru.com; have had excellent service and shipping is just $4.99!

Guess I have been spoiled having come from an area surrounded by decorating enterprises. Even outlets that would make Joann's look like a scrap sale. I am so much a tactile person, I really like to be able to touch the fabric for feel and drape it to see its body. I am afraid I will own the store by the time I find a fit by ordering samples online. I am kind of surprised there is no large outlet somewhere in Central Florida. I did see something in Hollywood, FL but that is a heck of a long way. Anyone up for a road trip?

Savannah furniture on 301 has designers, and designer fabric books (quite a few). They're on 301 in wildwood just above the turnpike ramps. Also, there are quite a few books in the design room at Southern Lifestyles @ LSL.

A couple of years ago I was pleased to find Winders Fabric Outlet in Homosassa - (352) 628-5752. At that time they had decorator fabric only. They were also making some type of change to the store. Definitely call to be sure they're still in operation and confirm their current address.

I just went looking for Savannah Furniture and found nothing. Did it close?

Look like Winders is still in business and they have closer to a thousand bolts of upholstery and drapery fabric. Homosassa here we come.
