Default Guard Cat vs Coyote - not here in TV

People often warn, rightfully so, about leaving small dogs and cats outside because of predators - mostly coyote's and alligators. This is an interesting example of a cat not taking any crap from a coyote.

Another reason not to declare your cat.

I find it hard to understand that someone would actually stand there making a video of this cat being attacked by a coyote. A loud noise would have frightened off the animal.

On the same subject. My neighbor has a very small grey dog, a heinz 47. My neighbor was pulling weeds and her dog was at her side, she felt something was wrong and a coyote was running into her yard straight for the dog. she screamed and ran towards the coyote which then turned and ran off. So if you have a small dog do not let it roam.

You’re kidding, right? This is obviously a Ring, Nest, or one of a dozen security cameras mounted on the house.

Well unfortunately I saw it as an idiot making a video. You are, of course, correct. My error, but there are some really strange people in this world who would have filmed it just to put it on social media.

No hard feelings, EZVIZ (the trademark displayed in the top left corner) is one of many WiFi security camera brands

Fascinating responses. I actually posted this because I was amazed at how that little cat managed to keep that coyote at a distance and Survive.

And btw, as someone said, screaming at a coyote will typically make it run away - not always, but if you tried everything else, it can't hurt. However, DO NOT try that and hope for good results if you are facing a pack of coyotes. Typically coyotes run in packs and they are more - uh, "confident" when a group of them are there.

I’m probably 100% sure that was a security cam and not someone just standing there.

That’s why I carry my .40 out at night when I take the pups out.

That was really scary and had it been a small dog that would have had a tragic ending since they don’t have the ability to climb as cats do. Traumatizing.
