Great article. Still the only thing wrong with it, criminals did not reqard the law. They carried anyway and that is still the case today.

Hope we can bring in the New Year of 2013, without any talk of 'Guns" and "Gun" Control.

gosh, I guess you innocently missed this paragraph in the article:

"Like any law regulating things that are small and easy to conceal, the gun control of the Wild West wasn't always perfectly enforced. But statistics show that, next to drunk and disorderly conduct, the most common cause of arrest was illegally carrying a firearm. Sheriffs and marshals took gun control seriously."

Glad I could bring it to your attention. Wonder how many innocent lives were saved by these laws & their enforcement?

Can you post a link to these statistics? Other than some bloggers opinion?

Before favoring something that affects a third of our population it might be a good idea to do your own research rather than be led around by your emotions. by those with an agenda. Mass shootings are a tiny, tiny problem no matter how tragic, in this country compared to things like accidental deaths in swimming polos, auto accidents, medical malpractice and alcohol. Just banning alcohol will save many more lives a year than any gun control will.

Anyway, just read this and learn the facts. The Facts about Mass Shootings - John Fund - National Review Online
