Talking Happy Thanksgiving this 2023.

Lots to be thankful for today. Almost 19 years here in the Villages. And 16.5 years here on Talk of the Villages.

Shared lots of memories, movies, TV shows, songs, discussions about everything from the very trivial to the very serious, etc.

A few deaths, a few births, a tragedy and two pooches.

Default “Oh the humanity!”

Just after midnight, we started our Thanksgiving Day by watching ”Turkeys Away” from WKRP.

WKRP is on Apple TV. The Big Guy’s T’Day promotion is Episode 7 of Season 1, 1978. I bet it can be found on YouTube, or just that famous scene anyway.

If you have a little time today, might want to tune in.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Boomer

I am thankful for
1) a wonderful wife who has been with me throughout it all.
2) Neighbors who know that I am out of town and my lawn mowing guy hasn’t shown up in 3 weeks so they mow my lawn .
3) friends who share a bottle(s) of wine with us.
4) neighbors who call up to invite us for beer and wings
5) for the Cleveland Browns having a winning record despite not having a regular QB
6) Finally, most importantly, having 6 grandchildren who call me grandpa even though I am only their parents step father.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

It is nice to see sane normal comments on this holiday. We certainly deserve that from all the posters here and those who try to set an example for what our community and our country mean.

It’s evident you are not just that ordinary person …but a special person that others have seen in you.
PS: Go Browns!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
"Only their parents step father" You undervalue yourself, my stepfather was the most important person in my life.... more than my mother and more than my sperm father. He's the man I called "dad" it makes me sad to read the words only and stepfather in the same sentence.

I give thanks for the multitude of blessings in my life every day, but glad people have at least one day where they are reminded to be grateful! Cheers y'all.
