Default Detroit sentencing

I read in USA Today that the killer of a young, drunk girl who pounded on his Detroit door in the early hours of the morning has been found guilty and has been sentenced to 17 years in prison.

What will the retired police captain in Wesley Chapel, FL, get for killing a man who tossed popcorn at him in the movie theater?

Renisha McBride Killer Gets 15-30 Years - The Daily Beast

The Detroit shooter got 15 to 30 years, with a minimum sentence of 17 years. Lock him up and throw away the key. Justice is served.

Seems like our justice system worked--and without rioting and looting. I'm not sure why you say "Finally".

Having lived in the Detroit area for decades, I think maybe Detroit residents have learned a lesson from the results of their '67 riots (loss of population and property values and a decayed, crime-ridden, barely habitable, bankrupt city-- with almost no hope of recovery) and are reluctant to do a repeat. It is a lesson that the residents of Ferguson, Missouri are about to learn.
