Default The Upcoming Olympics

The Happy Paper had a good article this morning on the problems of this years Olympics.

Between doping and bribery scandals, Zika virus worries, reduction in security staff, sewage tainted venues, Brazil's Presidential impeachment, major economic woes and a multitude of other things...I have a bad feeling about them this year.

I really hope I'm wrong though.

Me, too, but I think you're spot on. Olympics in general are money losers for the hosts but are usually made up in good will in the years to come. Not sure this will be the case. I'm just hoping nothing like Munich is pulled here.

I was just telling me wife last night of my bad feelings about the Olympics.

I've never been more hopeful that I'm totally wrong.

Chicago, Tokyo, and Madrid lost out to Rio in 2009. But let's remember that the FIFA World Cup was held in Rio in 2014, and that went well.

And the good news is that the Olympics will only be one hour ahead, so we will be able to watch the events live.

I'm with you 100%.

Hopefully, at the end of August we can look back and say it was a great Olympics.

I love the Olympics but I would not go under any circumstances.

Sochi looked touch and go for a small time but went OK.

I would go if I had a passport and the free money and time to do so.

My very first sister-in-law Susan M., grew up in Brazil but am not sure if it was Rio or Brazilia. She is the daughter of a US ambassador or something like that to Brazil. This is my older brother Robert's wife who used to drive me batty with her comments in many of my University of Nevada, Reno classes and then she showed up one day as my brother's serious girlfriend. Guess who's coming to dinner!!!

They got a divorce after I took off for Law School at the University of Minnesota and Robert hooked up with a marvelous lady from Virginia who was one of his underlings at a Silicon Valley computer company. She has been a real support in my 224 613 Project. It is nice to have someone to listen.

I did hear stories of Brazil from my first sister-in-law Susan M.

Actually, it really didn't go 'OK.'

While there weren't any major security issues, the false-fronted stores, dog patrols with orders to 'kill on sight' any strays and unfinished hotels and venues quickly became a PR disaster for Putin.

LOL live-tweets from reporters on the disaster greeting them in Sochi

Depending on ones perspective, I suppose you could say they at least attempted to 'bring athletes closer.'

That's what I like most about you, you're willing to do your own research and think on your own instead of blindly believing whatever you're told by a news outlet with an obvious agenda.
