Since we just retired we are planning our getaways for next summer and didn't think about our friends to the north.

We have never visited your wonderful country, but hubby and I decided not to travel to Mexico for awhile, and decided Canada was first on our list.

We are looking at a river cruise from Montreal, Toronto then down the east cost of the US.

I will talk to hubby about renting a houseboat. We had a 70 foot, 3 bedroom/2 bath houseboat and do miss it at times!

Thanks for the heads up on the exchange rate.

There was a time (1960's) when I could drive over to Cherry Hill Road just minutes away from my home and ask Mr. Dennis for corn. and because there were so many truck farmers produce stands along country roads were plentiful. Syracuse had a wonderful farmers market

Ice fishing is huge in Minnesota. a Saturday morning local T V sport show (1990's) featured a ice shack that was built for $100,000. It had every comfort feature a person could want ( refrig, stove, couch, etc) and seven ice fishing holes along it interior perimeter
