They also did not like me trying to arm more people with better access to legal information about their rights and services. Things have changed quite a bit though since those wild west days on Findlaw around 2001 -2007. Findlaw looked a lot like the 2015 Topix did back then with anyone saying pretty much anything.

I would rarely delete a post. Who wants to subscribe to a forum where everyone agrees, basically reading the same post a hundred times. Boring. My previous local newspaper started requiring real names, and the commenters dwindled down to about seven boring people, that really never said anything interesting. Also, online eyeballs were drastically reduced. If one really wants to know what others think about different subjects, one must err on the side of leaving the posts and protecting identities. After all, that's why we have the secret ballot. That's why voting place polls frequently are wrong.

Those mocking or worshiping emoticons are a good example of why Like and Dislike buttons are effective and better on blog posts.

Like and Dislike buttons or thumbs-up and thumbs-down buttons tally and show the number of people who react one way or the other. Posters chased out by bullies ought to see that often, many others are with them but won't stick their face out to be slashed publicly by commenting.

No offense to anyone, but I think I would use your "Who Cares" button on 80% of the posts.

I'd just everyone duke it out and would tell all the whiney tattletales to grow up.

I'd have to once in a while call people morons-I just wouldn't be able to hold back.

I would remove the Sticky posts from the top of every section. But if only one section - definitely the Restaurant section.

There are few more satisfying words than "moron."

Sorry if I offended you by using mocking emoticons.
And I'm sorry if you feel "slashed publicly" when you post.

Wouldn't a Who Cares button be very discouraging to any poster? Similar to a snarky reply? I often read about people who no longer post because of unfriendly responses. Seems to me Who Cares falls in that category.
