Default Wyndham Timeshare Sales???

My husband and I have a Wyndham Timeshare worth 567,000 annual points. We purchased this and upgraded thinking it would be great to take our family on annual vacations. The problem is our family is run ragged with children's activities and finding a time when all four units can get together is almost impossible.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our Wyndham Timeshare, but are looking to sell it now. Have you had any successful experience selling yours? Could you advise a company with a good reputation for doing this?

If the only thing you can do is comment bad things about timeshares, please go on to scanning other posts. I'm only looking for help on how to do it.

Thanks so much!
Connie

You might be able to sell it here if you say where it is, the price, and some general info about the unit. Perhaps you can avoid fees to a service.

Try going to timeshare users group. Timeshare Users Group Forums they have a sales forum and they have contacts that are realtors that do not charge any upfront money. Be aware that you will be doing good to get 35-45 percent of what you paid for your points. We had a Hilton week that we sold this year at a 50 percent loss of original cost. Having said that we bought a resale Hyatt week in Key West that retails for $35,000 and we paid $5,500 for. Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott , and Windham are the few timeshares that have a active resale market. Good luck.

Connie:
I tried for 3 years to sell my timeshare and then ended up selling it online with Sell timeshare Buy timeshare Timeshare resale - Time share for sale and rent. Timeshares Only. I lost a lot of money BUT got out of special assessments coming up AND if you have a deeded timeshare you can write off your loss on your taxes as a long term capital loss....

I hope this comes out right, but we actually wound up PAYING someone to take our timeshare. But one thing Wyndham told us was that if we tried to sell it ourselves, we needed to let the people know that while our points were transferable, they did not apply towards the levels that gave you more trading powers, or to get you to the next level. It is funny how the people who sell the timeshares told us.."Oh, if you ever want to get rid of it, you can just sell it. We will give you lists of people who would love to buy it." WRONG. But anyhow, just wanted to let you know if you are not able to sell it, there are groups who you can pay to take it-at least we got out of the annual fees and assessments. I know this is not what you wanted, but just letting you know there are options if you are not able to sell it.

Florida is the biggest timeshare resale scam state! We went to a lecture by the Florida Attorney General about this problem. These companies rent out an office and when too many complaints are filed they up and move, just changing their names and locations. They are owned by the same people over and over again. We have been scammed. The company takes your money creates a website that know one sees and places your timeshares picture, with a brief description . When questioning this they stated they did their responsibility . Do not be fooled by the person on the phone who sounds so sincere about your situation !! They will say anything to close the deal! Once you hang up ,there is no going back,(you may have a certain number of hours by law to change your mind.)

All I can say is that if any one or any company wants money up front to sell your timeshare - money for any reason including advertising - then don't walk away from that offer, RUN AWAY FROM IT! Legitimate fees should be handled like any other real estate transaction - at closing.

What is the annual maintenace fee(s) associated with 567,000 annual points? What can this amount of points get you!
