Looks like they added the rest of the populated northern and panhandle areas of Florida.

See Item 5 of the Comcast FAQs...

You can still have an unlimited data plan... for another $50/mo ($600/year)!

In effect it is a $600 cost increase!

My sister just added a slingbox in her MA home so that my Dad can see the Pats game in FL.

Comcast is making out like a bandit. They get paid at my sisters house for the outbound stream and at my Dad's house for the incoming...

It looks like the limit before additional charges is 1000 gigabytes/month (1 terabyte/month). 1000 gigabytes is a large amount of data and few people will come close to that. We stream a significant amount of data plus I work from home and we used 306 gigabytes in the last 30 days (as reported by my router, both received and sent data). While the story may aid in the always popular sport of Comcast bashing, it really is a non-issue for the vast majority of people. Full disclosure: I don't use Comcast.

I am not sure I follow you. Presumably there would be broadband service at both locations regardless of whether your Dad wanted to see the Pats via Slingbox. Are you saying that there are additional broadband charges because of the use of the Slingbox???

Maybe I do not understand what Comcast considers 'data'. I will have to look into that as I may be wrong in my thinking.

I'm a fairly heavy data user and have never come anywhere near 1 terabyte in a single month, which is what the cap is set at I believe.

There is a link on the comcast page showing what you would have to do to use up 1034gb in a month. They did mention ul/dl pictures, online gaming, streaming music and viewing HD movies. We only used 175 in september. They do have a spot on the cc website showing your usage.

Comcast has gotten ridiculous. I just got a new bill of 90.00. I,m just going to use my phone anymore. They can keep their big price. I,m not going to pay that much.

I had the same problem 90 bucks so I call comcast. Told them look I probably wont be in tis house much longer,as I am selling it. It didnt matter to me if I canceled now or later. So they said they would lower it to 55 bucks/ Told them not low enough lets lower the download speed to 10 megs so now we are down to 39.99 ok so ck speed and it is at 30 download. Funny game they play isnt it.

Wow the hand writing is on wall. Comcast sets the data limit to 1TB some the claim most people aren't effected. But up till now there have been no data limits on internet so Comcast is creating a business model like Cell Data service. Next year after people get used to the idea as a norm reduce it to 750Mb (still not effecting most people) then lower it again and again as they watch their profits go up.
Walk with your wallet. Its a dangerous trend that is sure to bite you later.

In fact, Comcast has been applying caps for several years in quite a few markets. When they started out, the caps were set at 300GB. Now they are rolling them out more widely and have increased them to 1TB. Given the history, I wouldn't worry much about them being reduced. As they add more capacity in response to increased average data usage, the caps will probably only go up higher. They're looking to manage the data usage of the extremely heavy data users, not the average customer.

Are you impacted by the limits? Do you know how much data traffic you generate?
