Who knows? North Korea is run by a family. Some other member of that family will take over if Kim Jung Un is out. They are a lot like some Roman emperors who murdered other family members to retain power in a few hands while throwing masses of gold at their guards.

Heart issues seem like a very good guess given that he is an overweight chain smoker. Also, he has demonstrated that when it comes to taking care of the general population of his country, he has no heart.

Probably true but N Korea is not at monarchy. Kim Jong Il set his son - Kim Jong Un -up very publicly as the heir apparent before his death. Kim Jong Un amassed enough power before the death that he could continue the "leadership" by force and perceived danger.

It remains to be seen if his sister has that power. Not likely since she has worked behind the scenes. my 2 pennys worth.

I'd guess he is isolating to avoid COVID. He's a narcissistic child born of privilege with a god complex and no qualifications to lead with his finger on a nuclear button.

Rumor out of Japan ( which is known to have inside sources), says Kim was visiting some collective farm or factory, clutched his chest and fell to the ground. He was supposedly rushed to a hospital were emergency surgery was performed to put in a stent. He supposedly is now in a vegetative state.

None of this has been confirmed as of yet by other sources but it does make sense. NK would not miss a chance to show the West is wrong and we would have seen him by now if he was all right.
