Default Has anyone bought furniture online? Advice?

Like most of us, I have bought a lot of furniture over the years. I like going to furniture stores. When making a larger buy, I probably would keep looking in stores, but all I need right now is an inexpensive set of nesting tables for our northern basement........Whoops!......Our realtor kept telling me to say, "Lower Level." But it will always be a finished basement to me. I am a mere bumpkin, I guess.

So anyway.......

I have been looking at wayfair.com this morning and have seen a couple of things that might work fine. Wayfair certainly provides detailed product description. One set of tables I looked at had copy that even launched into the history of the company that was doing the importing. I did not need to know all that for a little set of tables.

But I would like to know if anyone here has ordered from Wayfair or any other online furniture source and if there is any advice you would not mind giving.

Thanks.

Ha ha! Is your northern "lower level" in the mid west? Pittsburgh and NJ had basements. When we moved to Grand Rapids, MI, the basement was called the "lower level" if it had windows, and "the walkout" if it had a door!

We have bought such small items of furniture you are considering online, and they have been fine. We have two computer/tv tables that float around the living room. One came from Wayfair. We helped a neighbor put together a storage chest with bench on top. That came from Wayfair. We're not talking Drexel quality, but the small items are just fine.

Actually, our kitchen stools came from Target.com, and our dining room table and eight chairs came from overstock.com, and I love them. They match the very long buffet we bought from Haverty's. I took a big chance on the table, but at the time we had two houses.

Another place I have ordered small items is Birch Lane. Joss & Main looks to be okay as well. Hope that helps. You might have to assemble.

I have ordered from Wayfair and have found the quality good however I would instead order from Amazon. The return policy is so good on Amazon and you can read lots of reviews. I put a lot of weight in the reviews as they have tons of them for each item. You can learn all of the in's and outs and answered questions before you order.
If the item isn't available on Amazon then I would probably order from Wayfair.

Try Overstock.com. I've been pleased with everything I've bought from them, including some furniture.

I always check if the Wayfair item can be purchased on Amazon for the same price or less. If so I get it from Amazon for the return policy. Recently, I bought my son a media cabinet that was cheaper on Wayfair. It was a nice looking item at a very good price.

I've bought a few things from Wayfair. No problems at all.

I've bought several tables, lamps, toss pillows, desk and a tv stand from Wayfair.com and Overstock.com.
I've always been happy with my purchases and the quality of their products.

I ordered a recliner and settee from Rooms to go a few years ago online. Very satisfied with what we bought and the delivery. My wife has difficulty getting aroound and this was her way of picking out what she wanted.

I have ordered lamps, mattresses, a couch and sundry household items over the internet. Be sure to check out the rating of the seller if you can. It has mostly gone well for me.

I've ordered from most of the sites mentioned. All of them were great. I have also ordered from the Walmart and Target sites. It's not what you think! They carry the same manufacturers, same price. Plus, you can return most of the items at the local store. I recently ordered a pair of barrel chairs from the Target site. The exact chairs were on Wayfair. I worried about the color, fabric, and quality until they arrived. All was perfect. Had there been a problem Target is a short drive away. Good luck with your search.

Thank you to all for the advice. I just did a small order for a couple of little tables and a wall clock from Wayfair.
