Larry is the name and from Minnesota. Glad to help with the project if I can. Dad has a little book out depicting many of the old farm implements which I'd be happy to share. In TV now and not leaving until May 19th. 751-7659

I went to law school (1986-1989) at the University of Minnesota while working my way through law school at the Minneapolis Public Library downtown library my 2nd year and then at the University of MN Law Library part of my 2nd year and also during my 3rd year. Also worked as a Student Co-Director of the Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners (LAMP) Stillwater office along with now Judge Judy Tilsen as the other Co-Director.

Then stayed on after graduation from law school at the U of MN at the U of MN Law Library to work on cataloging all the computer files on WESTLAW as well as cataloging books in a dozen languages or so and doing some reference. I was also taking classes in Dutch, German, Russian, Italian, Chinese, and Japanese at the U of MN after law school graduation.

Did not have all that much time to see much of MN during law school with working and law school but did get to see a bit more after my 1989 graduation.

Have not been back to MN since 1991 though after getting through the perfect storm's affect on the Twin Cities in the late Fall of 1991. That was some snowstorm in 1991. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloween_Blizzard

Also started my massive international project to help survivors of various kinds of crimes in February 1991 while still working at the University of MN Law Library but with taking a lot of misteps during that year as to how to proceed with this. There was a lot of trial and error involved.

Tal - that's certainly a storm none of us, who had the pleasure of experiencing it, will forget. I worked in the operating room at the time, and was one of the crazy nurses who actually got to the hospital.............didn't get back home for a day and a half - no one could get there to relieve us. Sounds like you had an interesting time in MN. I just drove by the William Mitchell School of Law, on my way home today. So, are you able to speak all those languages today?

Just a little bit in some of them. I was taking them for reading purposes primarily. Did win the Outstanding Reader of French Award while at the University of Nevada, Reno around 1978; so, my French would probably be the best and had taken a year of Spanish while at the College of San Mateo in San Mateo, CA the year before law school.

This web-site might be of interest for your daughter. http://www.finehomesofminneapolis.co...un_Facts.shtml Also may want to look for a book called something like "How to Talk Minnesotan". http://www.amazon.com/How-Talk-Minne.../dp/0140092846

If you have seen the really funny movie in parts Fargo, you will be surprised to find very few Minnesotans actually talk like the people in that movie but some do.

Hi There:
That's fine with me and you have our phone number to contact us. Would be most happy to be of help. Education is so important! We have three sons that are engineers and we have 8 grandchildren with four in college at the moment.

Let me check with one of my neighbors. She just recently moved here from Minnesota. If she's willing, I'm sure she has some MN items with her. We're in Santo Domingo, so very close to you.

Still in Minnesota after two solid weeks. Leaving on Friday!!! It snowed here on Monday all day, dropped about 8-10 inches. Can't wait to get back to TV.

Maria, suggest you send people private messages with your phone number. While this is a great group, you never know who is lurking.

BTW -- talked to my neighbor on Friday. Unfortunately, she's spreading her wings and is headed back home today. Sorry she couldn't be of help.

Larry,
Thank you so much spending your time with Catherine this morning. I just watched the video. She seemed VERY nervous, but I also think she was trying to act very professional....I told her professionals can still smile! Anyway...the interview was great and what a coincidence that you also lived in Fairport and worked at Xerox!!! It is a VERY small world isn't it.....Thanks once again to you and Marge for you hospitality....I have started reading the book and will share the information with Catherine!

God Bless!
Maria  :#1:
