I loved SUE THOMAS FB EYE. It is on Tubi. Unfortunately, it is only 2 seasons long.

And having a number of seasons "in the can" would be very nice too...

I like detective shows and such, but I am open to any type of series if it's interesting enough. To give you a clue to my tastes, in the past I've liked Monk, The Mentalist, some NCIS (the original is all I've seen), sitcoms and various other types of shows. I rarely get hooked on pure drama. Monk and The Mentalist which I mentioned above had something in common...very good detective plots with really fun main characters and a humorous slant in every episode.

Okay, I'm open to suggestions. Again, I will consider any show if it's good.

Murdock Mysteries, Blue Bloods, The Black List, Father Brown, Grantchester. These are ones we like and for the most part, with some minor exceptions, family friendly.

TV Shows to Watch

We watched all seasons of Broadchurch a series about a murder in a small town in England. Right now I am having a "senior moment" and can't remember the name of the streaming channel. Be sure to use closed captioning so you can understand everything.

TV Shows

Some of the shows we like are:
Castle
Leverage
Burn Notice
The Glades
Warehouse 13
The Librarians
Covert Affairs
Eureka
My Family (BBC comedy)
Blood & Treasure (Paramount Plus)
Ellery Queen
Hawaii Five-O (The newer series)
The Equalizer

Some of these are available streaming from Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, or Paramount. Some are available on DVD from Netflix. Nice descriptions of all of them are on IMDb.com. Most of these shows have many seasons.

I enjoyed Last tango in Halifax

Endeavor, Mare of Easttown, Inspector Lewis (lots of seasons) Ted Lasso is fabulous (Apple TV). If you don’t mind subtitles/want to brush up on your French: Call My Agent (not detective), Lupin. Another one we found darling is Midnight Diner and Midnight Diner-Tokyo stories (Netflix, Japanese). It’s about a diner in Tokyo (so another subtitle one) and the different people who go there. Oh, and The Restaurant (Sundance, Swedish) - a bit soap opera-y but we liked it a lot. We have a whole spreadsheet of shows someplace…

I would especially agree with Heartland and Longmire

If you have or get a Roku, two multi-year series are great:

Covert Affairs
White Collar

Kominsky Method on Netflix.

Show called “Rosemary & Thyme” features two retired ladies who are in the business of renovating overgrown English manor grounds and seem to always end up solving a murder.

The second would be Chicago P.D. Chicago Fire and Chicago Med.

Sorry some of them don't meet your request but they kept me off the streets during the pandemic.

Of more interest with "The Blacklist" is that the star, Megan Boone, is part of the Developer's family. From Wikipedia:

"Her grandfather, H. Gary Morse, was the developer of The Villages; her mother, Jennifer Parr, is the Director of Sales."

The Marvelous Mrs. Mazell. Some rough language but funny and entertaining. If you enjoyJewish humor, this is it.
