Lovebugs damage car paint..solution?

They only stick to the leading front surfaces of you're car such as windshield, front end and side view mirrors. Riding in and around The Villages isn't a problem since you rarely go fast enough to squish them, about 40-45 mph which isn't a problem for golf carts.
I've lived in Fla. all my life and never had paint damage from them but left to bake in the sun makes them miserable to remove.

Barbara was successful in removing love bugs from the car with wet Bounce sheets.

For those who doubt that the bugs can damage your car paint job; sometimes you get lucky, but I have seen their body acids eat through the clear coat, the paint and the primer.

I don't risk it.

Clean with Lemon Pledge and the next time they will be removed easily.
