I’m so glad I retired in 1996 because I wouldn’t make it in today’s military! I use to encourage people to join the military but not since about 1998. If a war breaks out today, the only way America stands a chance is pre 2005 Vets pickup arms and Fight!!🇺🇸

.

That is just so dumb, sir!! I was in the U.S. Army and using sir or ma'am is simply a show of respect to rank.

You are an American but so are those in the other Americas. United States just clarifies which America. It’s not that difficult.

I can’t believe as Americans we are having this conversation still. I personally will never comply with calling a man a woman or a woman a man. I will be respectful and acknowledge mental illness comes in many forms. Now it’s invading our military.

Why not call everyone “COMRADE”? That’s what all this is leading to anyway

Eg. “The captain is at the door. Let “them” (except the singular form would be used) in.” Obviously, some terms, such as “mother” “father” would stay gender specific but we do have the words, “parent” “sibling” etc so all is not lost. We could just extend the language a bit as Shakespeare did.

That’s the ultimate end game anyway.

For 246 years the Marine Corps has been successfully defending America and her citizens and has set the bar for warriors across the world. Now a bunch of academics, probably book learned about leadership in combat and with no real world experience, come in and think they know what will make Marines better killers and warriors. Gimme a break. These pencil necked geeks need to crawl back into their textbooks and hope they never have to deal with real "shots fired in anger".

Maybe the recruits should refer to every DI as "Sargent Carter" and every DI should refer to every recruit as "Gomer" or "Private Pyle".
