There are all kinds of ways to judge fitness , each service is different including size , but only 1 and 10 soldiers ever sees combat and by quite a few different studies our troops do well , FYI the current commander has been in charge less then 2 years and just won a close fight to give the troops a pay raise over the objections ( well I won’t say more)

You can’t imagine, you just can’t, how much I ridge at the word “comrade”. My dad was in Russian prison because he would not join the Nazi soldiers. He could not stand their inhumanity. Several of his friends were also imprisoned with him and they died there. My dad was forced to eat his meals sitting on his dead friend’s body as there was absolutely no room. When he finally came home, he was less than 90 lb and his own mother did not recognize him. That is what “comrade” conjures up for me.

Obviously, you are not familiar with Russian Communism. My mother was a teacher under Communism (not in Russia but a subjugated country). They taught there is No difference between men and women. The boys were taught home economics, the girls how they could join the army when they got older. Children were taken from their families to be brought up by the state. Those who stayed at home were taught to turn their parents in IF they spoke a word against the government etc. You can’t imagine the degree of unfairness, and state sanctioned cruelty possible until you live under Communism.
