Default High on life……

All this back and forth is about mind altering chemicals,
wether they be in solid, liquid or gaseous state.
Wouldn’t it be great to feel high
without the need to chemically alter one’s mental state?
Just saying!

But potheads arent inhaling the lovely flavor..its not a cigar. They are smoking to get stoned.

They are really pathetic. Those here tht smoke are still living in their disco years. So sad
What makes you think pot smokers don't enjoy the smell and taste of pot as much as you enjoy the the flavor of your alcoholic beverages? I definitely know pot smokers who do.
I enjoy the smell of pot, as second hand smoke and fresh in a baggie. Likewise the smell of bourbon.
Although I once did, I no longer enjoy the effects of either.

The fact is, alcohol and marijuana can be enjoyed safely, or abused dangerously.

Is that the topic of discussion when you're out to dinner, over a glass of mind-altering wine/beer/mixed drinks?

I’m telling you fellow residents Ya need to pay attention to what’s being sold and developed it’s not all cotton candy and roses.
Ridiculous! This is medically approved marijuana. It is LEGAL. Soon recreational marijuana will be legal too. I think somebody was watching that old propaganda film "Reefer Madness". You cannot equate methamphetamine with marijuana. And you do know that meth is ILLEGAL and will stay illegal. The real legal killer drug is alcohol; alcohol is very often a factor in homicides, suicides, domestic violence, motor vehicle crashes, disease & early deaths.

I don’t think it’s a topic for discussion over dinner out,
but it might be something to give some thought to!

Default auto fatalities

"Alcohol is a major factor in vehicle fatalities, homicides, divorces, domestic abuse, suicides, assaults, child neglect, depression, financial ruin, premature death, and the list goes on."

What makes you think marijuana is not involved in traffic accidents ?

I don't see where anyone suggested that.
The point being made is that many people who consider marijuana a dangerous and society-threatening substance, consume alcohol, which is also a dangerous substance.

Much of what people think they understand about marijuana is based on misinformation disseminated over generations. Yes it can be abused, over-used, and used dangerously, as can alcohol. But it can also be enjoyed judiciously and carefully, as can alcohol.

Neither one is going away soon.

Sometime around 1960 or so, Willie Nelson decided alcohol was killing him, but marijuana seemed to agree with him.

Just think, if he hadn't smoked so much pot he might have had a successful music career, made a lot of money, and lived to a ripe old age. But that pot just did him him before his time.

Unlike Richard Burton who drank himself to death at the age of 58.

And he still declared bankruptcy.

Both substances can and are enjoyed (used...whatever verb one wishes to use) safely by many. Not every pot smoker is a "pothead" and not every alcohol consumer is a raging, DUI'ing menace to society.
